Jaden smiles at her as he walks her home, carrying her because she felt weak. “Hey Jaden……?” Lila asked him quietly. He looked at her, “What is it Lila?” She blushes lightly and smiles. “Were still going to the dance…..right?” He just smiles and laughs at the question. “Well duh! You’re my best friend!” Lila smiles brightly and nods “I’m glad” After that, things seemed to cool down, except for one thing, they didn’t know that they’re alone with their powers. Later that week in the evening, Lila lies alone in her room, listening to music on her bed, she hears something hit the windowpane and jolts. ‘What the heck…’ she thinks, getting up from her comfortable spot on the bed and walks over to the open window, looking out. Lila’s eyes widen as she spots Jaden, standing in her yard outside her abode, and smiling up at her. “Hey! What are you doing?!” she hisses at him through whispers. “I’m here to see you silly. Let me in” he answers bluntly, smirking. Lila rolls her eyes and runs downstairs, her parents at a party for her fathers work, and opens the door for him. Jaden walks in and looks around, walking upstairs to her room. “Whoa Lila, your room has changed a lot since the last time I was here.” He smiles and jumps on her bed. Lila just smiles a bit and sits next to him, “So why are you here?”
Jaden calmly explains about how he has the power to hover and fly. Lila tries her best to understand, slowly doing just that and nods when he’s done, silent. Jaden gulps, nervous, “So you’re okay with that………?” he asks cautiously and slowly. Lila smiles brightly and nods. “Of course!” she says lightly, hugging him. “You are my best friend after all” she imitates him from the earlier incident with Jessica. He smiles at her reply and hugs back. “Want me to show you?” he asks, smiling as Lila nods, enlightened, eyes bright. Jaden stands up and concentrates on the air, slowly levitating off the floor in the air. Lila’s eyes widen and she stands quickly. “That……is so cool!!!” she exclaims excitedly. Jaden smiles and starts to fly around her room. Lila follows him, spinning around to follow him with her eyes. He finally stops and flies down, floating in front of her in a sitting position. “So what do you think? Cool, huh?” he says, nose in the air. She just rolls her eyes and pokes his foot, making him fall down to the floor. Jaden yells as he falls and Lila cracks up, falling on her bed. Jaden gets up slowly, holding his stomach. “Ouch Lila! That hurt!” he whines, frowning at her. Lila continues laughing until she hears a low growl from the dark corner of her room. “You two shall be destroyed.”
Lila instantly stops and looks over at the dark and shadowy corner, straining her eyes to see something other than darkness. Her eyes widen with fear as a dark shadowy figure appears in the corner and steps out into the light. The figure has black straight hair, mysterious black eyes, and black clothing, but pale skin. He growls again and walks towards Jaden and Lila, creating a black knife in his left hand. “You shall die Hunters.”
Lila starts to get up slowly and cautiously. “Hunters……….?” She asks quietly. The figure tilts his head slightly. “You don’t know?” She just shakes her head, curious. “What are you?” The boy stands straight, trying to act professional. “I am named Kade, and I am a Nightmare. My species is created from darkness, just as you saw, I was formed from a simple shadow…and I saw you kill Jessica, you must know what you are girl” Jaden intervenes between them, arms outstretched, protecting her. “Leave now….” Kade simply walks towards them again and Lila walks towards him, eyes turning brighter than their normal shade of blue capriciously, a ball of light growing in her hand, creating a small flame that grows bigger by the second. Soon, the flame is as big as a baseball, bright and burning. Kade backs up, eyes widening slightly. “You’re a Flame……that’s impossible, your kind all died when your planet was destroyed by Chaosmakers!”
Jaden growls at him, eyes narrowing. “I said leave!” Kade doesn’t pay any attention to him and watches Lila as the white, sacred looking flame turns white. Kade looks as Lila’s eyes change to pure white. She then narrows her eyes and pushes past Jaden easily, walking in front of the Nightmare, then puts the flame up to his face/ “You better leave, or I’ll have to blow this in your face” she growls, the flame eating the air around it to grow bigger than before. Kade nods quickly, but doesn’t back away. “Not yet……….I need to stay and tell you something.” Lila just puts the flame back down and asks “What is it?” Kade leans down to her ear and whispers “You shouldn’t trust Jaden, because things that can fly, always fly away” and with that, he disappears from sight. Lila’s eyes turn back to their bright shade of blue and she wobbles a bit, and then stands straight, not blacking out. Jaden walks up to her. “What did he tell you Lila….?” He asks her carefully, holding her shoulder. Lila just turns around and smiles. “Oh nothing. It was nothing” she answers simply. Jaden smiles slowly, relieved. “That’s good” he said back. Lila sits down on her bed and Jaden stretches and yawns. “Man I’m tired, I think I’ll go home” Lila nods and walks him down to the door. “Bye Jaden!” Lila exclaims, waving as he walks out and down the street to his house. She walks back up to her room and lies down. “How am I a Hunter…………?” She asks herself, when she hears a snicker, she sits up and looks around. “Kade…is that you?”
Kade steps out of the shadows and nods. “You’re a Hunter because you kill “bad” aliens like us, Chaosmakers, and many others. And also…because your parents are too, just like you. So it probably runs in your blood.” He explained to her calmly, walking in front of her and looks down at her. “But you….you’re pretty cool for a Hunter”. Lila blushes a bit and smiles slightly. “Thank you and you are not so bad yourself” she replies happily. Kade barely smiles and leans against the wall. “You know, I can help you out with your little group…that wouldn’t be a waste of time” Lila frowns and looks out her window. “Kade, you tried to kill us, not cool, and I don’t really think Jaden would approve of it when he see’s you walking with me at school.” Kade just smirks and shakes his head. “I can handle a Wing like him” Lila tilts her head. “Wing?” she asks him. “His species are called Wing’s” he answers simply. Lila nods and frowns. “But if you join our group….you’ll have to hunt your own kind” Kade smirks. “I don’t mind, they’re all dead to me anyways”. Lila nods and holds out her hand. “Welcome to the group of Hunters then.”
